The International Weenie Roast Committee (IWRC) is proud to announce that Jacksonville, Florida has been been awarded the honor of hosting Weenie Roast 2008. After some debate, all competing committees had pulled out of the race, allowing Jacksonville to post an uncontested bid. 2008 will mark the third time that Weenie Roast will be hosted in the state of Florida, USA. Gulfport (2005) and Orlando (2006) have previously hosted the event.

IWRC Dictator, C. Tysh, phoned the Jacksonville 2008 Bid Committee to congratulate them on their victory. The official statement from the Jacksonville Bid Committee said "That's how we like it. No competition."

When asked about the Jacksonville bid, Tysh said "I have every confidence that the Jacksonville Host Committee will not screw this up."

Jacksonville joins Hiram, Gulfport, Orlando and Chicago on the illustrious list of cities to host Weenie Roast.
